Admission

Admission Requirements

Applicants will be selected by the qualifications displayed in their submitted documents and motivation letter. As there will be no personal interviews during the selection procedure, we encourage you to dilligently fill out your application for it to fully reflect your eligibility for the program.

Required Documents

International Applicants

  • A completed and signed application form
  • Your curriculum vitae
  • A letter of motivation
  • An official, certified copy of your secondary school diploma, e.g. Abitur, A-Levels etc.
  • Official transcripts with a key explaining the grading system. The transcripts must indicate the total number of years the applicant attended the school.
  • Official copies of all previously earned academic degrees and transcripts
  • TOEFL scores (MLU TOEFL code: 8232) or an IELTS score proving the applicant's good command of the English language. Exceptions are made for applicants from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, Australia & New Zealand. Applicants are also welcome to sign up for an English test at the language centre in Halle to prove their proficiency in English. This test will be accepted as a substitute for the language tests mentioned above. Students who want to take this test are required to sign up via email to

Students who have not yet received their high school diploma may apply with their latest school reports and send in their final certificate at a later date. Please note the expected date of receiving your final documents on the application.

All of the documents required above must be translated into English or German by a certified translator and, upon acceptance of your application, you must bring the originals with you to the enrollment office in order to complete the admission procedure.

Also make sure to put your e-mail address on your application in order to speed up the application process. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

German Applicants

Submission

International students should apply online with Uni Assist   . You can fill out the application form online on their website or download it from our download section. In our download section you can also find a short application guide that helps you with your online application.

German students have to apply via an online portal until September 30th and follow the instructions on that website.

Application Deadlines

International students have to submit their documents to Uni Assist    until July 15th.

German students need sign up with our enrollment office in September. The exact week is going to be announced shortly.

Credit Transfer

It is generally possible to enroll in a higher semester of the program and to transfer a limited amount of credits from your previous studies. Decisions about credit transfer will be made on an individual basis and are at the discretion of the respective professors at the MLU.
